Inter Hunt Team Knock-Out Gathers Momentum at Royal Windsor
Competition supported by Countryside Alliance; 24 Hunts to take part!
Following a successful pilot in 2009, organisers of Royal Windsor Horse Show (12-16th May) are delighted to re-schedule the Inter Hunt Team Knock-Out, this year supported by The Countryside Alliance.
Taking pride of place in The Castle Arena from 2:45pm on Thursday 14th May, the competition will feature 24 Hunts from across the UK.
Simon Brooks-Ward, event director at Royal Windsor Horse Show said: “Thanks to Fiona Russell-Brown at the Hunting Office, this competition has received phenomenal interest and so we’ve decided to make the Thursday of the Show a real Hunt Day to attract all Hunt members and their supporters along. We’ll also have a pack of Hounds and are offering special ticket offers for members of the Hunts taking part. We are so pleased that Hunts from across England are making the trip to Windsor, making it a really National competition.”
In 2009, 16 Hunts took part in the competition at Royal Windsor, with victory going to The Seavington Hunt. Demand for places in 2010 has been so high that 23 teams have already entered, representing some of the top Hunts in the country.
The registered Hunts so far are: Cheshire Farmers Drag Hunt; Chiddingfold, Leconfield and Cowdray Hunt; Cotswold Hunt; Cotswold Vale Farmers Hunt; Devon and Somerset Staghounds; Duke of Beaufort’s Hunt; East Essex Hunt; Essex Hunt; Heythrop Hunt; High Peak Hunt; North Cotswold Hunt; Old Berkshire Hunt; Old Surrey Burstow and West Kent Hunt; Puckeridge Hunt; Pytchley Hunt; Royal Artillery Hunt; Seavington Hunt; Southdown and Eridge Hunt; Teme Valley Hunt; Vale of Aylesbury with Garth and South Berks Hunt; V.W.H. Hunt; Warwickshire Hunt and Wilton Hunt
The fastest eight teams from the first round will go through to the second round, with the following rounds conducted as knockouts so the teams are whittled down to four, then two, before the winner is crowned.
