All the fun of The Pony Club at Royal Windsor Horse Show... And free entry to Pony Club Members!
Visitors to the Royal Windsor Horse Show (13-17th May 09) will witness all the fun of The Pony Club, through three different Pony Club activities taking place at the show.
As well as the popular DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games, the show will host for the first time The Pony Club Tetrathlon and The Pony Club Charity Ride, back for the first time since 2003.
The Pony Club Ride
The Pony Club Charity Ride celebrates the Pony Club’s 80th anniversary and DAKS’ 30th year of sponsorship at Windsor. On Sunday 17th May, Pony Club Members will ride through the private park land of Windsor Great Park, starting at Ascot racecourse and finishing at the show ground, where presentations will be held in the Castle Arena. Members taking part in the ride have been nominated by Pony Club Branches from all the 19 Pony Club Areas across the UK. Proceeds from the ride will go to support two worthy charities; Air Ambulance and The Royal British Legion.
The Pony Club Tetrathlon
Sunday 17th May marks the first ever Pony Club Tetrathlon at Windsor. The final activity of the Tetrathlon will be show jumping with a difference, as the tetrathletes will have to dismount to negotiate a slip rail in between their jumping efforts making for an exciting end to the competition, which takes place in the BHS Frogmore Arena at 3:35pm. The swimming, running and shooting phases will happen on the same day at different venues in and around Windsor.
The DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games
These popular games always prove a favourite at Windsor. This year they run from 14 – 17th May with the final and presentations held in the Castle Arena on Sunday at 4:55pm. Watch all the excitement as the team’s race against the clock all week to be crowned the overall winner.
To add to the celebrations, Royal Windsor Horse Show is offering all Pony Club Members FREE entry into the show, when accompanied by a full paying adult and on proof of their Pony Club Membership.
Royal Windsor Horse Show is delighted to welcome the Pony Club and wishes them a very Happy 80th Anniversary!
