Mountain and Moorland In Hand Pony Classes

All ponies must be registered in the Stud Book of their respective breeds and the registration numbers must be shown on the Entry Form. Brood mares must be 4 years old and over. Foals accompanying mares must be at least 3 weeks old on the day of the Show. To be shown in hand, foals not eligible. Welsh exhibits must be fully registered or F.S.1 or F.S.2. Stallions and colts 2 years old and over must have Ministry of Agriculture or Breed Society Licence, unless otherwise governed by their individual Breed Society.

Entry Fee: £40.50.

Special prize for Best Yearling, where applicable: £5.

If 3 entries or less in any class, one prize of £30 will be awarded.

Mountain and Moorland In Hand Championship
To be judged in the Castle Arena from the 1st prize-winners in Classes 72 - 92. Prize-winners eligible for the Championship must compete or forfeit their class prize-money.
THE ANIMAL HEALTH TRUST MANIFRED CHALLENGE CUP, presented by the late Mrs Nubar Gulbenkian.
RESERVE CHALLENGE TROPHY, presented in memory of Campbell Moodie Esq by Mrs Mary Campbell Moodie.
THE KILBEES MR PICKWICK CHALLENGE CUP, presented by the late A Rollo Esq in memory of the late Marchioness of Willingdon will be presented to the Champion Dartmoor.
NPS / Kilmannan Stud M&M In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship
A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the Mountain & Moorland In Hand section. The Sponsor’s Rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the Qualification Card. To be judged under the Rules of the NPS. NPS Silver Medal Rosettes are only awarded when the Owner of the champion pony is a Member of the NPS. A valid membership card must be in the Rider’s/Handler’s possession on entering the ring and be produced immediately on request by either the judge or the steward. If the Owner of the Champion pony is not a Member, or the Owner’s membership card is not immediately produced, the rosette may be awarded to the Reserve Champion provided they have the required membership card. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the Qualification Card goes to the Reserve Champion pony, provided the Owner of that pony is a Member of the NPS. The Silver Medal Rosette and the Qualification Card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve. Qualifiers are entitled to compete in the final of the Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show 4-6th August 2010
The Champion will qualify for the Whiteside & Knowles Supreme In Hand Championship to be held at the North of England In Hand and Mountain & Moorland Championship Show 2010.
